This sweet recipe is very famous in North Indian Cuisine made during festive seasons. Its a authentic traditional sweet delight blended with all purpose flour filling is added khao and dry fruits coated with sugar syrup

Ingredients
  • For Dough :
  • All purpose flour- 2cup
  • Wheat flour - 1cup
  • Salt - pinch
  • Ghee - 2thsp
  • Water.
  • Stuffing
  • Sweet khoa ( dairy product)- 1 cup
  • Almonds chopped- 1/4 cup
  • Pistachios chopped- 1/4 cup
  • Cashews- 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom powder - pinch
  • Nutmeg powder- pinch
  • Powdered sugar- 2tsp.
Directions
  • Step 1 First step take a wide bowl add the all purpose flour and wheat flour mix well then add salt ,ghee along with water little by to form smooth dough. Allow the dough to rest for 30 minutes. Keep it covered.
  • Step 2 Stuffing:
  • Step 3 Take a bowl add khoa, chopped dry fruits, powdered sugar ,Cardamom powder and nutmeg mix well keep aside.
  • Step 4 Sugar Syrup:
  • Step 5 Take a wide bottomed pan add granulated sugar and water in meduim keep stirring until it gets to one thread consistency.
  • Step 6 Finally add elachi powder mix well remove from flame keep aside.
  • Step 7 To make Gujyas:
  • Step 8 First step take lemon size dough make balls to form 4mm circular with help of pizza cutter cut into two halves.
  • Step 9 Then with of gujya moulds place the dough fill with stuffings then press it .
  • Step 10 Remove from mould then press the edges with the help of fork .
  • Step 11 Place the Gujyas on wet cloth .
  • Step 12 Take a wide bottomed pan add generous amount of oil allow it to become hot in medium fry the Gujyas until light golden brown then finally drop in sugar syrup.
  • Step 13 Remove the Gujyas transfer on plate garnish with coconut flakes.
  • Step 14 Note : Be cautious while frying Gujiyas also seal the edges properly during the process of deep frying the filling might come out if not sealed properly.
