This recipe is very famous in north Indian Cuisine blended with fresh spinach added to the wheat flour along with additional ingredients to enhance the texture and flavor to the recipe.

Ingredients
  • Spinach - 1 bunch
  • Wheat Flour - 1.5 cups
  • Semolina- 2tsp
  • Green chillies- 1
  • Ginger chopped- 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Canola oil / vegetable oil
Directions
  • Step 1 First step take a pan add 3 cups water allow to boil add a pinch of salt allow to boil for 3 minutes then add cleaned spinach allow to cook for 2 Minutes immediately strain the spinach disacard the water keep aside allow to cool completely for 5 minutes.
  • Step 2 Next step take a blender add blanched spinach along with green chili, ginger ,cumin seeds add little water grind to smooth puree keep aside.
  • Step 3 To make a dough take a wide bowl add wheat flour,spinach puree ,salt and oil 1tsp mix all the ingredients then add little water knead to form stiff dough allow to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Step 4 Take a wide pan add generous amount of oil allow it to become hot in medium flame
  • Step 5 Meanwhile take the dough make a lemon sized balls uniformly then with wooden roller make circular shape uniformly on all sides place on the plate.
  • Step 6 Repeat the process for remaining dough transfer on a plate.
  • Step 7 Drop the palak Pooris in hot oil slowly flip to other side as shown in the picture below cook to crispy light brown in color takes about 3 to 4 minutes.Then transfer on a paper towel repeat the process by deep frying palak Pooris.
  • Step 8 Serve with any type of Vegetarian or non Vegetarian gravy.
  • Step 9 Note: while grinding the spinach mixture add only sufficient amount of water to get thick spinach puree.
