This recipe is very famous combo served with Pooris in South Indian cuisine. It’s blended with potatoes along with additional ingredients to enhance the taste also the texture.

Ingredients
  • Boiled Potatoes - 2
  • Onions sliced - 1
  • Green chilies- 2
  • Ginger chopped - 1 thsp
  • Carrots chopped - I /4 cup
  • Curry Leaves - few
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Dry Red Chilies - 3
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad Dhal - 1 tsp
  • Channa Dhal - 1 tsp
  • Astafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1 .5 tsp
  • Water - 1/ 4 cup
  • Oil - 2 Thsp
Directions
  • Step 1 First step take a wide pan add oil allow it to become hot then add mustard seeds allow it to splutter at this point add cumin seeds,Urad Dhal ,Channa Dhal and dry red Chilli fry for a minute .
  • Step 2 Next step add Astafoetida cook for a minute then add ginger , green chilies, chopped with the spatula keep stirring for 2 minutes next add sliced onions along with salt 1/2 tsp mix well add curry leaves and chopped carrots fry for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Step 3 Next add close the lid cook for a minute then remove the lid as onions turns soft the add turmeric powder 1 tsp fry for few minutes then add few coriander leaves fry for 2 minutes.
  • Step 4 Next add slightly mashed potatoes mix well as potatoes blended uniformly then add water 1/4 cup cook for few minutes by add salt 1 tsp.
  • Step 5 Close the lid cook for 3 minutes until the potato made gets to thick consistency.
  • Step 6 Potato Masala is served with hot Pooris.
