This Paratta recipe is famous in South Indian cuisine served with vegetable kurma. It’s layered parotta made with unique technique not complicated but time consuming process worth the time for having this tasty homemade parotta.

Ingredients
  • All purpose flour / Maida -2 cups
  • Salt -1 tsp
  • Powdered sugar -1 tsp
  • Oil -2 thsp
  • Water little.
Directions
  • Step 1 Take a bowl add Maida ,salt ,powdered sugar along with oil .
  • Step 2 Knead the dough well to smooth consistency along with little water.
  • Step 3 Finally add little oil to the dough cover it with muslin cloth close the lid allow to rest for minimum one hour.
  • Step 4 Note the more time given to the dough to rest we get excellent results.
  • Step 5 After resting time is done .
  • Step 6 Now remove the dough on to the flat clean kitchen counter place it by adding little oil ( Canola ) knead the dough once again for 5 minutes.
  • Step 7 Take a small portion of the dough on the flat surface with rolling pin make the dough to thin like sheet to all the sides it stretches easily since oil is applied on the surface.
  • Step 8 Finally pull out slowly from one end roll out like shown in the pics above.
  • Step 9 Then transfer them in a plate brush little oil on the rolled balls then close the lid.
  • Step 10 The same process make all of the dough balls after 10 mins.
  • Step 11 Then remove the parotta dough ball place it on the flat surface with a rolling pin just roll to either thin or thick circular shape like chapathi. Don’t press too hard.
  • Step 12 Take a pan add oil 1tsp then add the parotta in medium flame flip it over to other side cook both sides add oil on top cook till its light brownish color.
  • Step 13 Parotta is ready.
  • Step 14 But for final touch like restaurant cook couple of parotta ‘ s in same manner .
  • Step 15 Then on the counter top place 3 parotta on top of each other using both your hand slight give a slight crush .
  • Step 16 Serve with vegetable kurma or chicken gravy
  • Step 17 Note : This recipe consumes more oil to get perfect results so got to comprise 😄
