This curry is popular in South Indian cuisine blended with Raw Plantain cooked with few ingredients’ tasty blends as sides with Sambhar, Rasam and Yogurt Rice Varieties.

Ingredients
  • Raw Plantain - 3
  • Onion chopped - 1
  • Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  • Urad Dhal. - 1 tsp
  • Channa Dhal - 1 tsp
  • Astafoetida - 1/4 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli - 6
  • Curry leaves- few
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut Scrapped- 1/2 cup
  • Sambhar Powder - 2 thsp
  • Oil - 2 thsp
  • Salt - 1.5 tsp
  • Water
Directions
  • Step 1 First step take a steel pan add chopped Raw Plantain along with water sufficiently enough add turmeric powder then keep flame in medium .
  • Step 2 At this point close the lid cook for 3 to 4 minutes remove the lid check the texture of Raw Plantain with spoon it should be cooked 75 % only add salt 1 tsp mix well cook for few minutes then remove from flame drain out water allow to cool keep aside.
  • Step 3 Take a pan add oil 2 thsp allow it to become hot in medium flame add mustard seeds 1tsp allow it splatter then add Urad Dhal, Channa Dhal, Astafoetida sauté with the spatula for 2 minutes then add dry red chilies, chopped onions , curry leaves fry for few minutes.
  • Step 4 Next step low the flame add sambhar powder 2 thsp ( If u don’t have substitute with coriander powder- 1tsp , Red Chilli Powder- 1 tsp ) fry for 2 minutes then add freshly scrapped coconut fry for few minutes.
  • Step 5 Finally add Raw Plantain mix well with the spatula close the lid cook for 2 minutes in medium flame.
  • Step 6 Next step remove the lid mix well add little salt if required sauté for few minutes.
  • Step 7 Raw Plantain Curry is ready for serving.
