This recipe is popular in South Indian cuisine blended with Flat Green Beans along with few ingredients to enhance the taste and texture to the recipe. It’s a seasonal vegetable and healthy. Blends as sides with Sambhar and Rasam Varieties.
Ingredients
- Flat Green Beans - 1 cup chopped.
- Onions chopped - 1
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Urad Dhal - 1 tsp
- Astafoetida- 1 /4 tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Freshly Scrapped coconut - 1 /4 cup
- Salt - 1 .5 tsp
- Gingerly oil - 2 thsp
- Water - 1 cup
Directions
- Step 1 First step take a pan add Gingerly oil 2 thsp allow it to become hot then add mustard seeds allow to splutter.
- Step 2 Next add Urad Dhal, Astafoetida fry until Urad Dhal turns light brown in color.
- Step 3 At this point add chopped onions , salt and curry leaves fry for 3 minutes until onions turn translucent.
- Step 4 At this point add flat green beans chopped mix with spatula fry for few minutes then add turmeric powder, red chili powder along with water 1 cup mix with spatula add salt 1 tsp .
- Step 5 Close the lid cook for 5 minutes in medium flame.
- Step 6 After 5 minutes remove the lid then cook until the flat green beans turn tender in texture and water completely dries up from the pan .
- Step 7 Finally add scrapped coconut mix with spatula fry for few seconds in medium low flame .
- Step 8 Flat Green Beans Curry is ready for serving with Sambhar or Rasam Varieties.
